Dwarf Citrus Mandarin Emporium

The Dwarf Emperor Mandarin is a compact, evergreen citrus tree ideal for pots and small gardens, producing full-sized, sweet, and easy-to-peel fruit. Typically grown on dwarfing rootstock, it features glossy foliage, fragrant spring blossoms, and generous mid-winter harvests with its signature “puffy” skin.

Key Characteristics and Care:

• Size: Compact in form, generally reaching around 1.5–2.5 metres in height and width, making it perfect for containers or tight spaces.
• Fruit: Very sweet, juicy, pale orange fruit that are easy to peel and usually low in seeds.
• Puffiness: The rind is characteristically loose or “puffy,” allowing it to separate easily from the fruit.
• Position: Prefers full sun, well-drained soil, and shelter from strong winds.
• Care: Requires regular watering during establishment and warmer months; fertilise in spring and summer for best results.
• Rootstock: Commonly grafted onto Flying Dragon rootstock, which helps keep the tree compact (around half the size of standard varieties) while improving cold tolerance.
